Maison Suisse

The agency VIDALENC ARCHITECTES was appointed to design a dwelling house on a plot located at an altitude of 900 meters and overhanging Leman Lake, near the town of Montreux in Switzerland.

The project aims to create several buildings gathered around a vast “garden”, the only part of the site requiring maintenance: nature is indeed supposed to recover its aspect, before the renovation, all around the buildings.

The buildings are partially buried, with only the gable facing Leman Lake being largely open. The roofs of the 3 main buildings, separated from the walls, are covering the interior spaces. These spaces are arranged according to their orientation and use, and offer a variety of points of view on the site.
